The day begins with an exclusive walk through Santospirito Wholesale Flowers, a trade-only facility not open to the public. This rare opportunity gives students firsthand insight into flower selection, sourcing, and the buying process — a crucial part of understanding the floral industry.
Throughout the workshop, we explore bouquet styles, from classic arrangements to soft, whimsical designs, and even wearable florals such as buttonholes and corsages. Students will learn about flower varieties, colour palettes, and composition, while also discussing current trends in bridal requests. Practical elements like costing and pricing your designs are covered, giving students essential knowledge for professional practice.
A key focus of the day is learning the correct methods for flower preparation, including cleaning, conditioning, wiring, and techniques such as rose reflexing, ensuring your blooms are both beautiful and long-lasting. Under expert guidance students will create their own stunning bridal bouquets, gaining confidence in their technical skills and creative expression.
