This two-day Foundation Bouquet Intensive is designed to confidently set you on your path into the floral industry. Delivered through a hands-on, practical learning approach, this immersive course focuses on building strong foundational skills while encouraging creativity and confidence with flowers.
Throughout the course, students will learn how to create both free-flowing, contemporary bouquets and more traditional, structured designs. You’ll be guided through bouquet construction using seasonal flowers and foliages, with an emphasis on balance, proportion, movement and natural form. Each day you’ll work with an abundance of fresh flowers to create on-trend, industry-driven designs that reflect current floral styling techniques.
Presentation is just as important as the bouquet itself, and beautifully wrapped bouquets are an essential skill for any florist. You’ll be shown professional wrapping techniques that elevate your designs and prepare them for retail or client presentation.
In addition to design skills, this course introduces key industry knowledge, including flower buying, costing and how to price your designs correctly. These insights provide a valuable understanding of the commercial side of floristry and help prepare you for real-world industry expectations.
Located within Santospirito Wholesale Flowers, Melbourne’s largest grower and supplier, students gain a unique behind-the-scenes perspective into the floral supply chain. This setting offers invaluable exposure to the back end of the floristry industry, from sourcing flowers to understanding seasonal availability and market trends.
You’ll work with a wide variety of locally grown and imported flowers, gaining practical knowledge about their characteristics, care requirements and best design applications.
No previous experience is required — this course is ideal for beginners or anyone looking to build a strong foundation in bouquet design.
